Enjoying the western sunshine and warmth for Abi and Sam’s fabulous Las Vegas engagement was a dream. Abi and Sam moved out to Las Vegas, Nevada to join the city’s famous world of entertainment and performance. Abi, an aerialist, and Sam, an acrobat, met through mutual friends. What started as a friendship with mutual talents for balancing on and hanging from things evolved over time into a really beautiful relationship.
Working with friends is always such a fun treat for me! Abi and I figure skated together while in college at the University of Michigan. When we were getting ready to graduate, she was preparing for her audition with Disney on Ice, and was later cast as Tinker Bell. I had the pleasure of seeing her tour come through Detroit just a couple of years later. Over time with Disney, she learned aerial arts for the show and later moved into the circus side of performing, later finding a home in Las Vegas. It’s been really fun, as a friend, to watch her life evolve and to now, meeting and marrying Sam!
Tivoli Village Engagement Photos
We linked up in Las Vegas for their engagement session while I was out west in the area. We started the session at Tivoli Village and spent about 45 minutes wandering around the area. Tivoli is an outdoor shopping center with Italian influence, with archways, tiled floors and cobblestone streets in certain areas. While maybe not a conventional engagement session location, it was a lovely spot and a style Abi loves.
Fabulous Las Vegas Sign at Sunset
We drove to the famous Las Vegas welcome sign for an iconic Vegas backdrop. We only spent about 7 minutes there, working around crowds and a long line, but the moments and light are some of my favorites from the evening.
An Impromptu Stop at the Vegas Pinball Museum
On our way to the Fabulous Las Vegas sign, I had spotted a giant Pinball Museum sign just a block or two away. We decided to finish out their Las Vegas engagement session in front of the Pinball sign. It may not be a true Vegas landmark, but with not a single car in the parking lot and lots of space, it was still a fun way to incorporate Vegas and all of its grandiose signage and lights for a colorful end to the evening.
As a Detroit, Michigan-based wedding photographer, any opportunity to travel and capture love stories is a dream come true for me. It was such a treat to see and work with Abi and Sam for their fabulous Las Vegas engagement session and I can’t wait to see where this beautiful life takes them.
